  • The Weslo Cadence GTX treadmill is priced for the home exerciser who wants a compact and lightweight treadmill for walking and occasional jogging. At under $500 in price, so it’s one of the most affordable treadmills on the market. There are many online stores that sell this model of treadmill, and many offer free shipping, which makes it worth buying online.

The motor on the Weslo Cadence GTX is 2.25 horsepower, which makes it suitable for walking and light jogging only. Runners will find that the motor is simply not designed for the workout they’ll give it. The speed goes up to 10 miles per hour and the incline has three manual settings between 0 and 7%.

This treadmill is really marketed toward users who want a walking workout with a treadmill that’s very simple to use and very inexpensive. This treadmill weighs just 123 pounds and folds away quite nicely, making it easy to store.

The treadmill includes computer programming and a display panel that shows time, speed, pulse, calories burned and distance. There are four pre-set programs, and a thumb heart rate monitor. This treadmill has an easy to read display and is very simple to operate. There is a ¼ mile track on the display, to help you keep up with your progress in your workout.

The Weslo Cadence GTX has a walking surface that is 16x 50 inches in size. The 16 inch wide walking deck may be bothersome for some walkers; most treadmills offer a wider deck. The ride on this treadmill, however, is very smooth when walking.

One of the biggest complaints that users have with treadmills is assembly. Most are heavy, bulky and difficult to put together. This treadmill, however, appears to be fairly easy and quick to assemble.

The Weslo Cadence GTX comes with a 1 year warranty on the motor and 90 days on parts and labor.

This is a very basic low end treadmill for walkers who don’t want to spend a ton of money. While the price is very affordable, there are other treadmills in this same price category that have more features, are more durable and have better warranties. But, the user reviews are quite good. So, we suspect that as long as your expectations are in line with the features offered, you’ll be quite happy with this treadmill; especially for the price.

We would probably not recommend this treadmill for the seriously overweight person or the serious endurance runner. First of all, with a weight limit of 250 pounds, it would not accommodate many seriously obese walkers. Secondly, it would likely not last very long from the pounding that it would get from long endurance runs.

However, if you’re on a budget, and you don’t need a heavy duty treadmill; this is a good choice. The Weslo Cadence line of treadmills is made by the Icon Health and Fitness Company, which also makes the ProForm line of treadmills. Their Weslo Cadence line carries their lower end models, while the ProForm treadmills are slightly higher end. Icon Health and Fitness is the largest manufacturer of fitness equipment, with over 4000 employees in 11 locations all over the world. They have been making fitness equipment for more than 25 years and have a reputation for making high quality products.

Of course, you’ll want to compare the Weslo Cadence GTX to other treadmills before you make a purchase. We recommend that when evaluating any treadmill, you do some serious shopping around.

You should begin your treadmill search by setting a budget. Since treadmills come in such a wide range of prices, knowing how much you can spend will narrow your choices down rather quickly. Then you can get on to finding which of the treadmills in your price range will suit you best.

First, concentrate on the durability of the treadmill. Get one with a good motor, and one whose motor has a good warranty. It’s a solid motor that makes a treadmill last for a long time.

Make a list of the features you think you’ll use on a treadmill. Some people really like the pre-set programs, while other people never use them. Displays should be easy to read and should show the statistics that you’re really interested in. If you like to listen to music, you may want speakers for your MP3 player. However, don’t expect great sound quality from the speakers on a treadmill. You’ll probably get better sound just using your ear buds.

Runners need different treadmills than walkers, because they give the treadmill a harder workout (no pun intended). Even if you aren’t in good enough shape to do much running right now, you should buy a heavy duty treadmill if that is your goal in the future.

Portability is important to some people. If you need to be able to move your treadmill around or fold it and store it in a closet or under the bed, your choices will be fewer. Many of the best treadmills in terms of motor and stability are simply not practical to move on a regular basis. If you want a really heavy duty treadmill, it probably needs a permanent home.

Buying a home treadmill is a great investment for your home gym. Once you know the features you need in a treadmill for your home, check out the Weslo Cadence GTX, along with other home treadmills to ensure that you get the perfect treadmill to fit your body and your workout requirements. You’re certain to love having a treadmill in your home so that you can get your workout in whenever it’s convenient for you.
